3 months contract with local authority We are seeking an experienced Housing Advice/Prevention/Homelessness Assessment Officer who is ready to hit the ground running. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Housing Options duty Service, responsible for completing assessments and carrying out prevention/relief work, as well as managing a varied caseload. Knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act, and other relevant legislation and statutes is essential, along with experience in conducting homelessness enquiries, casework, and drafting s184 decision letters. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in delivering within a pressurized Housing Options Services and be able to manage the multiple demands and pressures of the service. Hillingdon offers flexible working arrangements, with the expectation of being office-based 50% of the time after completing an office-based induction period, which typically takes two to four weeks depending on the level of competency. Office hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Requirements Proven experience in housing advice, prevention, and homelessness assessment Knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act, and other relevant legislation Ability to manage a varied caseload and carry out homelessness enquiries and casework Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a pressurized environment Flexibility to work in an office-based setting for 50% of the time Willingness to complete an office-based induction period Office hours availability from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
