We're looking for Project Engineers to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team working on our Southern Water framework.
Location: Visiting sites and offices across the Southern Water area.
Contract: Permanent, full-time with some flexibility on hours—just let us know when you speak to us.
Kier is a strategic partner to Southern Water for AMP8 on capital frameworks across their water supply and treatment regions. In this role, you'll report to the Project Manager and provide management and engineering support to deliver design development, construction, commissioning, and transfer into use of various water and wastewater projects during AMP8.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Project Engineer, you'll work within the Southern Water team, supporting them to ensure project delivery aligns with Kier's and Thames Water's KPIs.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
* Analyzing and interpreting preconstruction information (PCI), Southern Water standards, and industry best practices to ensure design solutions meet their requirements.
* Solving problems and developing coordinated and integrated design solutions related to Mechanical or Civils work scope.
* Ensuring the production of all necessary design deliverables by supply chain partners, such as specifications, models, drawings, data sheets, and schedules.
* Including specific design risk assessments and considering innovation, value, safety, and delivery schedule in design solutions.
* Collaborating with procurement to identify, select, evaluate, and appoint suppliers and sub-contractors for Mechanical work scope.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you hold:
* Relevant technical qualification (NVQ L3 / HNC / Degree) and membership of a relevant professional body.
* Experience within the water sector or similar regulated sector.
* Experience contributing to hazard reduction workshops like SWIFT, ALM, HAZ-ID, or similar workflows.
* Ability to work as part of a team to achieve project and company objectives.
* Knowledge of management systems and processes used in large multidisciplinary design and build projects.
