Head of Health and Safety
Location: Devon
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 DOE
The Role
The Head of Health and Safety oversees quality, health, safety, and environmental standards across the business. You will ensure a strong safety-first culture and drive continuous improvement through effective risk management.
This role involves regular travel to projects across the UK, with occasional extended hours or weekend working to meet urgent business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder engagement and liaison with industry regulators
2. Team leadership and development, including mentoring, training, and awareness programmes
3. Carrying out risk assessments and incident investigations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
4. Developing, implementing, and maintaining QHSE policies
Candidate Requirements
5. Experience in a similar Health and Safety role
6. Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
7. Experience within civils or marine construction environments
8. TechIOSH, NEBOSH, and ideally CMIOSH qualifications
9. Degree-level qualification or equivalent
10. Proven team leadership skills
