We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Whatton, a category C prison located in Nottinghamshire. HMP Whatton is a male adult prison with a capacity of 827.
Hours
* Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week (condensing over 4 days per week is possible).
Salary
This is a full-time position with an annual salary between £49,848 and £55,996 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.
Contract and location
Permanent, full-time role based at HMP Whatton, Notts, NG13 9FQ.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and care teams.
* Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
* Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients and ensure autonomous practice where appropriate.
* Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
* Coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute to audits and governance; contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
* Chair and facilitate healthcare meetings with the team and partners; provide clinical supervision (training available) and conduct local and regional investigations.

Requirements and qualifications
* Essential
o Registered Nurse (Adult) with current professional qualification (NMC).
o Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
o Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
o Non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship.
* Desirable
o Experience in hospital, community or prison environment.
