Due to the expansion of the Learning Academy remit, we have an exciting new Social Work Practice Consultant post. Working alongside our established Practice Consultants, the successful candidate will support and sustain the growth of our Newly Qualified Social Workers programme (ASYE). This non-caseload role involves supporting the CYPS workforce, including non-social work staff. You will collaborate with Team Managers to mentor NQSWs and promote high-quality social work practice. The role is based centrally in Rotherham and operates across the borough, working with newly qualified workers and students. Close cooperation with the Principal Children’s Social Worker is essential, focusing on evidential practice and research use. The position includes a trainer element, with some workforce development training expected to be delivered by Practice Consultants. Knowledge of the DfE Social Care Reforms, especially supporting social workers in their second year, is crucial.
Applicants should have significant experience in children and young people's social care and child protection, a strong understanding of the public law outline, experience in practice education, and be fully registered with Social Work England with a social work qualification.
