ABOUT THE BUSINESS
This organisation is a technically led delivery partner operating across network, infrastructure and cloud environments, supporting complex projects for enterprise‑scale customers. The business has built a strong reputation for predictable, well‑governed delivery and is continuing to invest in its internal delivery capability as demand grows.
As part of this evolution, the company is strengthening how it plans, allocates and forecasts technical resource. This role sits at the centre of delivery, helping the business scale sustainably while protecting engineer wellbeing and delivery quality.
THE RESOURCE MANAGER OPPORTUNITY
As Resource Manager, you will act as the central coordination point between project delivery and engineering teams, ensuring work is planned against real capacity.
You will:
* Own the day‑to‑day allocation of network and infrastructure engineers across projects, operational work and improvement initiatives
* Maintain clear visibility of current utilisation, short‑term capacity (4–6 weeks) and medium‑term demand (3–6 months)
* Work closely with Project Managers to validate resourcing assumptions and adapt plans as priorities or scope change
* Identify and escalate resource conflicts and delivery risks early, providing clear, data‑led options
* Support delivery by coordinating travel, accommodation, hardware, licensing and consumables in advance of work starting
YOUR KEY SKILLS
* Experience in resource management, delivery coordination, PMO or capacity planning
* Understanding of technical delivery environments (networks, infrastructure, cloud or similar)
* Confident managing competing priorities and ambiguous demand
* Comfortable working with senior technical and delivery stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills with experience using spreadsheets, PPM tools or reporting dashboards
* Calm, impartial and pragmatic, with the confidence to challenge unrealistic demand
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
* Clear visibility of who is working on what, and why
* Fewer delivery surprises caused by resourcing constraints
* Leadership able to make informed prioritisation and hiring decisions
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
* Organised, composed and solutions‑focused
* Trusted by both engineering and project teams
* Comfortable saying "no" or "not yet" when capacity is constrained
* Focused on sustainable, predictable delivery rather than last‑minute heroics
