Main duties of the job
The Dementia Nurse Specialist will support Barchester's memory lane communities and other facilities requiring specialist dementia interventions. Responsibilities include reviewing clinical performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting quality assurance visits, analyzing clinical data, supporting statutory requirements, ensuring dignified treatment of residents, and integrating current dementia knowledge into practice.

This role involves supporting performance reviews, quality assurance, clinical governance analysis, regulatory compliance, dignity and emotional support for residents, safeguarding, research-informed practice, project development, clinical leadership, staff support, strategic planning, and supporting investigations related to dementia care.

Required experience and qualifications
* RN with a current NMC PIN
* Minimum 5 years' post-registration clinical experience with dementia
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in dementia care
* Understanding of regulatory, ethical, and legal aspects of dementia care
* Coaching and mentorship experience
* Full UK driving licence
Role and responsibilities

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RN with a current NMC PIN, with over 5 years' experience working with dementia, ongoing CPD in dementia care, understanding of regulatory and legal issues, coaching and mentorship skills, and a full UK driving license.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This position requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
