About the role:
Working as a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons are effectively prepared and safely delivered in a busy and successful department.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
* Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons
* Support teachers and students during experiments and practical activities
* Maintain, clean and store laboratory equipment
* Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times
* Manage stock levels and order resources as required
* Assist with general administrative duties within the Science department
Requirements -
* Previous experience working in a school laboratory or similar setting (desirable)
* A strong interest in science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Knowledge of health and safety practices within a lab environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ideal candidate would have:
* A science-related degree or relevant qualifications
* Experience working as a Science Technician in a secondary school
* Confidence in supporting practical science lessons
* A proactive and reliable approach
* A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
