Job Summary
Taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day operational servicing and repairs to meet Trust targets for preventive maintenance work (PPM) and reactive work, ensuring compliance with legislation and guidance such as NHS Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), Health Building Notes (HBN), British and European Standards. The post holder will deliver a high‑quality maintenance repair service across building fabric, electrical and mechanical plant and equipment for the Atlas portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day servicing, repair, and maintenance work, ensuring all work meets relevant legislation and guidance.
* Understand and apply the Estates Strategy in alignment with Trust and Atlas strategic goals.
* Fault‑finding, testing, and inspection of complex low‑voltage (LV) networks, critical systems and equipment, including nurse call equipment, fire alarms, and fixed electrical installations.
* Periodically test emergency lighting at Blackpool Teaching Hospital, Clifton Hospital, Fleetwood Hospital and National Artificial Eye Service, and record test procedures.
* Maintain fluency with Microsoft Excel and use dedicated emergency‑light record software.
* Carry out lighting repairs identified following PPM testing and report faults to the Estates Helpdesk.
* Participate in Atlas’s 1‑in‑6/on‑call rota, providing out‑of‑hours coverage for Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Clifton Hospital, Fleetwood Hospital and National Artificial Eye Service.
* Collaborate with trade groups and contractors to deliver responsive maintenance, repair and installation services, including planning and organising maintenance activities.
* Maintain and update the departmental risk register and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
