Business Marketing is a large and diverse team of expert marketers. We provide the Grow London directorate and London Convention Bureau team with comprehensive marketing services. We engage and inspire business audiences to choose London and London & Partners.
MedCity
MedCity is part of the London & Partners family. Its integration strengthens London & Partners’ offer to the life sciences sector in London. MedCity facilitates and supports the identification and utilisation of opportunities within London’s life sciences and healthcare landscape, leveraging networking and research and development to drive innovation.
Purpose of role
To support the delivery of the Marketing Manager\\\'s strategy and contribute to wider organisational goals by executing day-to-day marketing activities, creating engaging content, and maintaining digital platforms. The role is key to fostering collaboration, managing communications, and promoting London’s life sciences ecosystem. It plays a valuable part in raising our profile, driving engagement with key stakeholders, and positioning London as Europe’s leading city for life sciences. London is ranked third globally behind Boston and New York, with the ambition to become number one.
Key Tasks
* Depending on activity, to manage or assist in the delivery of innovative and impactful marketing campaigns, from inception through to evaluation.
* Working closely with the wider team to scope, create or commission, and distribute content informed by audience insights, ensuring alignment with business needs across owned, paid, and partner channels.
* Provide professional and efficient marketing support for MedCity/Life Sciences business activities and events, including developing event marketing such as messaging, copywriting, collateral production, and branding.
* Monitor MedCity and Life Sciences shared mailboxes, ensuring smooth communication and efficient handling of enquiries.
* Update and maintain websites and any future digital platforms to ensure accurate, engaging, and up-to-date content that aligns with the organisation\\\'s goals. This includes regular reviews, editing, and publishing news, events, and resources, ensuring clear navigation, consistent branding, and optimal user experience across all digital touchpoints.
* Write and schedule social media content, collaborating closely with the Marketing Manager and wider MedCity/Life Sciences team to ensure consistent messaging aligned with marketing campaigns and strategic objectives.
* Lead on of MedCity’s monthly newsletter and wider Life Sciences newsletter(s),
* ensuring engaging and relevant content is delivered to stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Digital Services teams to ensure all marketing projects and activities are effectively captured within the project management system, properly briefed, and delivered on time, accounting for lead times and resource requirements.
* Perform any other reasonable duties as allocated by the line manager.
You’ll have/bring
* Proficient marketing skills with an interest, and ideally previous experience, in the life sciences sector.
* Commitment to continuous learning and evolving with industry best practices.
* A desire to work in an agile, collaborative marketing environment and as part of diverse project teams.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce, is desirable.
* Competence with marketing performance monitoring tools, including Google Analytics, social analytics platforms e.g. Hootsuite, is desirable. A willingness to develop these skills is essential.
* Familiarity with CMS platforms, ideally WordPress or Sitecore.
* Familiarity with design platforms such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is ideal
* Strong organisational skills, with a willingness to learn and use project management tools, such as Jira, Monday.com, etc.
