Senior QA Engineer Salary: Up to £80,000 benefits Location: Remote I'm working with a fast-growing online retail company. The company offer an end-to-end solution that combines modern technology, smart data, and expert valuation to create a seamless, customer-first marketplace experience. As the Senior QA Engineer, you will own and build the quality function across their customer-facing websites and front-end applications. You will define the testing foundations, implement modern automation practices, and embed a quality-first mindset across the engineering team. Responsibilities as a Senior QA Engineer: Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and C#. Lead both manual and automated testing across web and front-end applications. Establish testing standards, processes, and best practices from the ground up. Own end-to-end quality assurance from planning through to release sign-off. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Conduct regression, exploratory, negative, and boundary testing. Collaborate with developers and product managers to define acceptance criteria and test strategies. Create and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and defect documentation. Support and mentor junior testers as the team grows. Champion shift-left testing and continuous improvement across the engineering function. Requirements for the Senior QA Engineer: Strong experience in both manual and automation testing. Hands-on experience building automation frameworks using Playwright (preferred). Strong scripting ability in C# / .NET. Experience testing modern web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar. Understanding of SQL for data validation and test setup. Experience working within Agile environments. Hands-on experience integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines. Confidence performing negative and boundary testing. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, scale-up environment where processes are still being refined. Experience mentoring or supporting junior testers is highly desirable.
