We are a specialist SEND school supporting children and young people with a range ofsevere and complex needs, including profound learning difficulties, medical needs, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. Our learners require high levels of personalised care, structure, and support to access learning and develop life skills.
The Role:
As aSEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups throughout the school day
* Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, and medical routines where required
* Support learning activities adapted to meet each pupil’s individual needs and EHCP targets
* Use communication aids such as Makaton, PECS, or sensory resources to support understanding
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to ensure a consistent and holistic approach
What We’re Looking For:
* A caring, patient and reliable person with a strong sense of empathy
* Experience supporting individuals with SEND (particularly SLD, PMLD, or complex medical needs) is desirable
* Comfortable with personal care responsibilities and physical support needs
* Able to remain calm and supportive in challenging or emotionally demanding situations
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable learners
