Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join the Cambridgeshire Liaison and Diversion Service. The role focuses on supporting vulnerable individuals of all ages within the criminal justice system, screening and assessing service users and diverting them when possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Screen and assess individuals in police custody and Magistrates courts across the county.
* Provide vulnerability screens to individuals involved in the criminal pathway.
* Advise and support partner agencies (police, court, probation) in risk management while in custody.
* Assess and signpost appropriate services, diverting individuals where no public protection issues exist.
* Teach and hold awareness sessions for key partners to promote robust partnership working.
* Travel independently around the county, meeting strict time deadlines; use personal vehicle to meet service needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Band 6 mental health nurse with relevant experience. Must hold a full UK driving licence and have personal vehicle; use of public transport is not permitted. Ability to work autonomously in host environments and adapt to varied settings. Will be required to work in police custody units, courts, and potentially rural areas.
