Job Description
Escape the dead-end of traditional architectural practices and move into a field that combines design with cutting-edge technology.
In Lancashire, salaries often max out around £35,000–£40,000, with little progression. Here, you’ll have the potential to earn more, take on varied work, and build a career that doesn’t stagnate.
Never again will you work unpaid overtime. There’s almost no overtime in this team, but when you occasionally go over, you get time and a half. That’s better than 100% of Architectural practices and even most consultancies. This job will transform your time away from work as well as your working day.
You’ll enjoy a relaxed, flexible approach to when and where you work, with some need to be in the office, especially at the start of your employment. As you progress, there’s the potential for car allowances and even more flexibility.
This is a great chance to broaden your skills beyond traditional architecture. You’ll get hands-on with laser scanning, drone surveys, and digital construction while still keeping a foot in design. It’s a route into project management, facilities, and estate management, giving you more career options down the line.
What you'll do
Working within the laser, drone scanning and measured survey team, you’ll develop CAD drawings using the latest scanning technology. This could include new buildings, extensions, or delivering drawn assets to clients. You’ll also be trained to use Revit, even if you haven’t worked with it before.
Sometimes you won’t be drawing at all. You’ll be processing and managing scans yourself, and you’ll get full training and support to build your confidence in this area too.
What you'll need
* AutoCAD experience
* At least 3 years experience of working as an Architectural Technician
* Interest in surveying, laser scanning, drone scans and digital construction
About the company
A specialist technical and survey-led team, part of a larger multidisciplinary consultancy that’s regularly brought in by architects, surveyors, and direct clients when accurate information matters. Small enough that you’re seen and trusted, technical enough that you’ll learn quickly, and growing in a way that gives you genuine room to shape what you become over the next few years.
