Job Description

Your main role will be to develop and advance the Hazardous Waste (HW) regulatory reform related to the Waste Tracking Service (WTS). This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference!
The Hazardous Waste Regulatory Reform Project Lead will play a key role in navigating complex regulatory environments, implementing reforms, and driving the project to successful completion. Your expertise will be vital to the successful implementation of these reforms.
You will:
* Coordinate and gather input from EA HW teams regarding regulatory and policy requirements of the regime.
* Provide technical input to the EA Waste Tracking team.
* Advise the Defra digital team on the development and design of the Waste Tracking Service, ensuring it meets business needs.
* Offer technical insights and feedback in Defra policy discussions to incorporate regulatory requirements into the Waste Tracking Service.
* Engage with devolved nations regarding Waste Tracking Service requirements.
Additionally, you will:
* Lead on future Hazardous Waste charging proposals and consultations, providing technical advice.
* Support broader regulatory reforms related to Hazardous Waste Regulations.
* Contribute to the wider Hazardous Waste team and support its objectives.
The Environment & Business (E&B) Hazardous Waste team is a small, high-performing group within the Regime Regulation team of E&B Waste Regulation. We lead on hazardous waste issues, supporting government, industry, and colleagues to ensure proper waste management.
