Health Care Support Worker – Band 3
Full‑time post covering Archer Ward, a 20‑bedded ward that delivers holistic person‑centred care to improve independence, health outcomes, and reduce unnecessary secondary/long‑term care admissions.
Job Responsibilities
* Deliver person‑centred care, including symptom management and psychological, social, spiritual, and practical support to patients, especially in palliative care.
* Manage rehabilitation, long‑term conditions, and limiting conditions to enable patients to gain their independence.
* Collaborate with patients, carers, statutory and voluntary organisations, and agencies.
* Record and monitor patient activity and health status.
* Support patients through delegated clinical tasks and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Vocational Level 3 in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
* Experience/knowledge of delivering care or working in a care setting.
* Minimum Level 2 GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent, and fundamental ICT skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and competency‑based training.
* Evidence of the Care Certificate or willingness to achieve on joining the trust.
Desirable:
* Typing/word processing skills or qualification.
* Evidence of related training.
* Understanding of the Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England.
* Experience working in a team in a healthcare setting.
* Knowledge of NHS IT systems/applications.
* Experience of rotational shift patterns including days and nights.
* Knowledge of the Trust's values (LCHS Way) and health and safety, infection prevention, and manual handling practices.

* Pay: £24,937 to £26,598 per annum (pro‑rata), permanent, full‑time, part‑time, and flexible.
