Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
* Create a high quality, rich, stimulating and enabling environment containing items that will spark curiosity and lead to independent exploration.
* Deliver high quality interactions through planned activities to raise the standard of teaching and learning across the setting and ensuring Pre-School children are school ready.
* Implement a robust strategy to teaching early reading, using phonics.
* Get to know the children, families and staff team at the nursery, creating a trusting rapport with all, including leading parents evenings and meetings in relation to children’s development and preparation for school transitions.
* Ensure all SEN/ASL needs are identified early and are met with respect, care and professionalism. Where necessary work alongside the Nursery Manager and Group Safeguarding and SEND Lead.
* Support other local Cherubs Nurseries to ensure they are delivering the highest quality teaching and learning in Pre-School.
Take Ownership
* Ensure the Cherubs Nurseries approach and curriculum intent is properly and consistently embedded across all areas of Pre-School.
* Establish and maintain a purposeful learning atmosphere.
* Regularly update cohort and tracking and analyse to inform future improvements, creating action plans tailored to each of the age groups educators.
* Be responsible for the nursery’s planning, observations and assessments through Blossom, ensuring these are up to date and all children are achieving positive outcomes.
* Ensure you always follow the Cherubs Nurseries operating policies and procedures. Asking and clarifying if you are ever unsure.
* Keep up to date with all industry news, legislation and policy changes - relaying this back to your team where appropriate.
Commit
* Be accountable for all key people in the nursery, ensuring they are striving for positive and successful outcomes for their key children as well as being responsible for your own key children’s learning and development.
* Monitor the nurseries planning, observation and assessment through Blossom, ensuring these are up to date and all children are achieving positive outcomes.
* Audit children’s Blossom profiles ensuring they provide accurate, detailed and reflective accounts of the child’s current development needs and ensure staff are providing developmentally appropriate challenging next steps.
* Ensure the nursery receives excellent (outstanding) outcomes in internal audits and those of external authorities such as Ofsted.
* Attend any meetings, training or workshops (both in and sometimes outside of working hours).

Your Qualifications And Experience
* Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Qualified to degree level in Early Years or Education
* 3 years’ experience working in an Early Years Setting or Classroom
* 2 years’ experience of leading a room or unit within an early year’s environment (Would be advantageous but not essential)
* Experience of Safeguarding and/or SENDCo and/or Language Lead
* Proven track-record of teaching to a “Good” or “Outstanding” standard in Early Years
