My clients are a worldleader in in the design manufacture and continuous improvement ofwireless condition monitoring solutions. Their technology is usedin 35 countries in rail construction and mining. More than 30000sensors were installed last year helping users manage ground andstructural movement landslide risk geotechnical behaviour railtrack movement and muchmore.
Tasks
Main Duties& Responsibilities:
As NPI Engineer you willprovide an administration link between the engineering productmanagement and operational disciplines with specific focus on allactivities associated with New Product Introductions.
Thisrole reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and there may be anoccasional requirement for national travel primarily to meetsuppliers and customers and support productdeployment.
Responsibilities include although arenot limited to the following:
Work alongside the Head ofQuality to manage allocated projects through a structured gatedprocess from concept/quotation to productionhandover.
Analyse and recommend improvements to all production processes andmethods to facilitate cost reduction and qualityimprovement.
Ensure compliance to all ECO procedures andwork instructions.
Maintain process to communicate allengineering changes to internal and externalstakeholders.
Support of production line tooling andequipment to support manufacturing processes.
Owncreation of new part numbers BOM creations/structure and BOMcostings.
Preparation of Control documents/workinstructions and provide technical support to productiondepartments when necessary.
With help of QualityEngineers perform FEMA PFMEA study to understand the Productionprocess and improve production time.
Generate and issueComponent Inspection report FAIR reports and manage PPAP process(ifapplicable).

Relevant Knowledge &Experience:
Candidates should assess their suitabilityagainst the following essential and/or desirable relevant knowledgeand experience:
Essential:
Degree qualified (orwith equivalent experience) in an engineering discipline.
Strong demonstrable background in ElectronicManufacturing.
Ability to manage project and coordinateproject review meetings.
Interpretation of drawings (ASMEand ISO) and GD&T technical specifications Gerber Filesand product control documentation.
Excellent written andverbal communication skills with fluency in written and spokenEnglish.
Experience using 3D CAD software SolidEdgepreferred but others are acceptable too.
Good computerskills with competency in using MS Office suite and other softwareas necessary.
Desirable:
Previousexperience within Sensor manufacturing industry is an addedadvantage.
Experience working with projects in APQP/PPAPenvironment is preferred.
Use of PFMEA/DFMEA/Control plantools and risk management techniques.
Awareness ofmeasurement and calibration standards.
Competent user ofMicrosoft Office suite and Project.
Awareness / exposureto direct communication with OEMcustomers.
