Academic Associate in Computer Science (Part Time Lecturer and Part Time PhD Study)

Grade G (£32,397 - £37,280 p.a. pro rata)

Five-year fixed-term and part-time 0.5 FTE contract.


About Us

The Department of Computer Science resides within the School of Science and Technology on the Clifton Campus of Nottingham Trent University (NTU). It collaborates with colleagues in other departments and research centres. The department comprises around 70 academic staff and ~25 PhD research students, with large undergraduate and taught postgraduate cohorts. It provides an exciting environment for high-quality, interdisciplinary work.

Our Department of Computer Science combines internationally significant research with an outstanding record for teaching excellence. We offer state-of-the-art facilities and a career-focused approach to course design to help students excel. Research strengths include Interactive Systems, Computational Intelligence, Pervasive Computing, and Cybersecurity, with active research groups in these areas. Alongside the online application, please submit: a) a covering letter; b) your CV; c) a short statement (no more than one side of A4), outlining the topic you wish to research (or a research proposal). As part of your supporting statement, identify the aims and objectives of your proposed PhD research and explain how it would fit at NTU and align with current Department of Computer Science activities. You may also identify potential supervisors for your research project. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to deliver a 5-minute presentation about their proposed PhD research project.
