Applications are invited for the post of Administrative Officer in the Access and Success team within the Directorate of Student Success.
Skills
In this role you will be part of the newly formed Access and Success team which supports students and staff through teaching, training and outreach events. The team includes Academic Skills, Widening Access, E-learning and Educational Development. You will play a key role in supporting the work of the team, leading on and contributing to a variety of tasks related to the administration of:
* Academic Skills
* Projects to support the changing service delivery of Access and Success
* Education Excellence Awards
* Access and Participation interventions
Such tasks include: managing queries, bookings, forms and promotion of activities; collating and presenting data to help demonstrate the impact of the team’s work; supporting meetings and timetabling of activities; purchasing resources and processing purchase orders.
You will communicate with students and colleagues across and outside the University, will work closely with one main team lead, and will collaborate with other team or project leads. Therefore, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will support the team to deliver excellent customer service, so will act proactively to improve administrative processes and service quality. You will manage and contribute to a wide variety of different tasks, so will have good organization skills, a systematic approach, and be able to independently manage conflicting demands. You will update webpages, input and check numerical data and contribute to professional documents, so will have a good level of literacy and numeracy, and will be a proficient user of key Microsoft 365 apps. You may also support outreach activities for the Widening Access team, so will undergo an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training, be willing to travel to schools in London and the South East, and may once or twice per year work overnight campus residential events.
