Overview
A vacancy has arisen for a Purchasing Assistant within the Catering Department at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
This post offers the opportunity to play an important role in ensuring the smooth supply of food and non-food items across the service. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing orders through the electronic order processing system, maintaining a secure product line via single suppliers, helping to resolve regulatory queries, and acting as the first point of contact between suppliers and the Catering department. The role also includes responsibility for allergen management and the control of goods coming in and going out, as well as providing support within the catering stores when required.
Requirements
* Excellent standard in English and Maths
* Strong IT skills in Word and Excel
* Ability to work accurately under pressure
* Good organisational ability, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
* Experience with procurement systems (e.g., PECOS) or in a stores/purchasing environment is advantageous
* Mon-Fri role with full training and support
