Teaching Assistant
Location: Berkeley, Gloucestershire
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Plus: £1000 Welcome bonus*
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term time only
Teaching Personnel has a great opportunity to work with a fantastic SEN School based in Berkeley. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, combining elements of mainstream and special education to create an environment where young people can achieve their goals and thrive in their future.
Key duties:
1. Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe, enjoy, and learn during their time at the school.
2. Promote independence and personal development in pupils, maintaining high expectations of behavior at all times.
3. Support the delivery of high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities across a broad and balanced curriculum to help pupils reach their full potential.
4. Assist the Class Teacher in all aspects of the daily running of the class.
5. Adapt to the changing needs of the school and tasks presented to ensure smooth operation.
6. Support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
7. Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
8. Under supervision, ensure all documentation related to incidents, health, and behavior is completed accurately.
Candidate qualities:
1. Previous experience isn't essential; a genuine desire to build professional relationships with young people is important.
2. A GCSE (or equivalent) pass in Maths and English is Essential.
3. Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
4. Commitment to the role, prioritizing the child's needs and treating them as individuals.

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanency later.
