Offer description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our progressive and expanding multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist you will work in partnership with colleagues to support patients who are in one of Falkirk’s community rehab beds and with patients in the community as part of the Reach team. The Falkirk Community Bed AHP Team provides assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for service users in community hospitals and step down facilities across the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership. The Reach Team provides assessment and rehabilitation to people in their own homes or homely settings. This post will be split across both teams. In this post you will be expected to provide a comprehensive specialist service of assessment, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge planning for a complex range of patients referred to the service. The role will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries alongside Partnership and Community Rehabilitation colleagues. The service offers a varied clinical caseload, excellent peer support and training opportunities. You will be expected to participate in quality improvement, evidence based practice and in-service training. There will also be an opportunity to undertake the clinical supervision and appraisals of more junior staff, as well as contribute to the supervision and development of undergraduate/pre-reg students. The service covers the Falkirk Council area with the AHPs being based between Falkirk Community Hospital and local bases depending on demand. If you have an interest in rehab and frailty and have a drive to support people to meet their goals then we would love to hear from you. NHS Forth Valley is embracing contemporary working.
