This Senior Officer post will lead on the development and embedding of trauma-informed practice across North Lanarkshire, working with services to design and deliver initiatives in the development of trauma-informed approaches for staff and services at all levels in the council and Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). You will also engage and involve individuals with lived experience as a fundamental component of ensuring services are trauma informed. This is a key role which will make a real difference to transforming how individuals experience support and services.
You will be based within Education and Families and be part of the team developing integrated approaches to support children and their families. Importantly, you will have a wider role and be working closely with colleagues across the council and HSPC, including TOD to lead and develop trauma-informed practice. You will work closely with the Trauma Champions within the HSCP and Council. As part of the team of Senior Officers in Children and Families you will play a key role in policy and practice development as well as quality assurance in promoting best outcomes for children and their families.
You will have a professional qualification at degree level or equivalent and significant experience in local government or a similar diverse organisation. We need someone who has a proven track record of achievement in public policy, partnership working, project management, strategic planning in local government or in some other relevant policy/partner background. You must have strong leadership skills and be able to influence and inspire colleagues in achieving our ambition to become trauma-informed in North Lanarkshire.
You will be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and you will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
