Job Title: Conservation Architect
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000

Aztrum is delighted to be partnering with a planning-led, multidisciplinary studio known for its strengths in architecture, urban design, and planning. They’re now looking to welcome a Conservation Architect to their collaborative and design-driven team. This is a fantastic chance to get involved in meaningful, purpose-led projects. As a Conservation Architect, you’ll play a key role in delivering sensitive, sustainable solutions that respect historic character while supporting community needs. Working alongside a diverse team of planners, urban designers, and architects, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your conservation expertise across all stages of design and delivery.

What you’ll be doing as a Conservation Architect:
• Support the conservation, adaptation, and creative reuse of historic buildings across multiple sectors
• Produce clear, detailed technical drawings and heritage documentation using Revit (proficiency required)
• Work closely with planning and heritage consultants to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and conservation standards
• Assist with Heritage Statements, Impact Assessments, and listed building consent applications
• Contribute to thoughtful design interventions that balance preservation with contemporary needs
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to deliver respectful, high-quality conservation outcomes
What we’re looking for:
• ARB-registered Architect with a recognised qualification in Architecture; conservation accreditation (AABC, RIBA SCA/CA) would be a plus
• Solid understanding of conservation principles, traditional building methods, and heritage policy
• Hands-on experience working with listed buildings and sensitive sites from early stages through to completion
• Proficient in Revit and comfortable working with digital tools in heritage-focused contexts
• Strong communication skills with experience working alongside local authorities, heritage consultants, and clients
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about sustainable, heritage-led design
