To provide senior medical secretarial service directly to named Consultants. To take a lead role in managing the waiting list of a group of consultants. This will involve cross covering and supporting other specialities when required to support the team and services. Monitor the waiting list and work list daily to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached. To co-ordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics. To ensure RTT (18 week pathway) status is recorded accurately and is up to date. To collate information for clinical audits if required. Arranging appointments as required. To be responsible for and collation of investigation results. To deal with day to day incoming mail, assigning priority and/or taking any necessary action without reference to Consultant staff if necessary and within remit. Acting as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the consultant and their team Audio typing of clinical and non-clinical correspondence ensuring completion within national guidelines.
