We are looking for someone to join our Parts Distribution Centre. It’s an exciting time to join the team as we support the business through a period of growth and the ever-changing business challenges facing the distribution centre, and support the HR team to modernise the way we work!IBased in Daventry, this is a part-time, 3 month fixed-term, Summer Internship opportunity that combines traditional HR responsibilities with exciting project work, offering a dynamic and rewarding role for the right candidate.
As an HR Advisor, you will work in a small friendly HR team to support the distribution centre People Leaders implement strategies to manage c350 employees in largely manual, warehouse roles. Both the hourly and salaried employees are represented by our Trade Union partners who we work with closely.
The role is broad ranging, with a strong employee relations element, but also the opportunity for an individual who wants to get involved in HR project work, management/analysis of data and professional HR advisory.
This position reports to the Senior Specialist HRBP, Daventry, and has the following roles and responsibilities:
Employee Relations Operational/Business Support
Coach and support People Leaders through all HR related actions including resolution of employee relations issues
Support all resourcing requirements aligned to resourcing and skills strategy.
Develop effective relationships, with all key stakeholders including People Leaders and Trade Union partners
Use data to proactively identify business needs and collaborate with stakeholders to develop, and deliver continuous improvements, aligned to the business strategy, focussed on enhancing the employee experience.
Policy Interpretation & Implementation
Advise and support People Leaders, Trade Union partners and employees with the interpretation and implementation of Company policies.
Partner with key stakeholders, including Occupational Health, on the management of both casual and long-term absence cases to support employee well-being and reduce absence levels.
Provide HR support for formal investigations including discipline, dignity at work and grievance cases partnering with Centres of Expertise to ensure consistency of policy application in line with legal considerations.
Stay informed of developments within the HR profession and share ‘best practice’.

Qualifications & Skills
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of HR products and services, will be comfortable with ambiguity, enjoy being challenged and have a flexible and resilient mindset.
Education
Looking for an individual who is either mid way through or who has recently graduated from a HR related degree.
Location and Working Hours:
This role is based fully on site at the company’s Parts Distribution Centre in Daventry, a convenient and accessible location in Northamptonshire. Part time, 30 hours per week (flexibility on days/hours).
