We are a close and supportive departments making sure our focus is on both the patient's wellbeing as well as each other's.

We work alongside numerous Multi-Disciplinary Teams to provide pre and post-surgical care to patients, and their families. We ensure our patients (outpatients or inpatients) are well informed of their planned surgery, answering questions and making sure concerns are addressed appropriately.

We are close, supportive and welcoming department, and ensure that we focus on both, the patient's wellbeing and needs, as well as each other's.

We encourage informal visits for you to meet the team and have a look around our different areas and great opportunities to learn in different departments too.

The Bristol Eye Hospital is the ideal place to enhance your present skills but also to be more specialised in Ophthalmology.

We are looking for a dynamic and positive Registered Nurse with transferable skills to develop/enhance management in Gloucester ward

Please note - this vacancy is not suitable for Nurses that need to complete their OSCE exam.


Main duties of the job

* To be proactive in supporting the nursing team and acting as a positive role model always promoting best clinical and professional practice.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. Be actively involved in recruitment and staff development reviews.
* Ensure patient management care provided is according to agreed policies and protocols, taking appropriate action, seeking advice from other members of the multi-disciplinary team as necessary. This will include identification of risk (clinical, health, safety and security)
