Time Out Market is a global food and cultural market leveraging the editorial curation of Time Out Media to bring the best of the city together under one roof: its best chefs, restaurants, bars, and cultural experiences.
Time Out Market is looking for an experienced IT professional with a passion for global project delivery and technology transformation. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of global IT and technical development projects across our current markets and new markets. Reporting to the VP Development, they will lead all technology delivery and implementation for the opening of new Time Out markets operated under partner and franchise agreements. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for creating and communicating IT guidelines and critical pathways to ensure successful Market launches. They will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT and Tech Strategy that outlines standards, tools, processes, and timelines for launching new Time Out Markets globally.
* Define the IT operating model for partner and franchise-owned locations, balancing corporate standards with local flexibility.
* Lead and manage global IT projects across Time Out Market operations, for existing and new Time Out Markets, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
* Collaborate with development, operations, and franchise management teams to align IT delivery with commercial timelines and business goals.
* Lead IT projects from start to finish, coordinating with diverse, international teams, and ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget requirements.
* Oversee all IT and technology-related workstreams for new market openings, including infrastructure, networking, POS, digital signage, ERP integrations, and cybersecurity.
* Manage multiple concurrent projects across different markets, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
* Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks for partner and franchise operations.
* Define and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and toolkits for market launches.
* Develop and manage IT budgets for each market opening, ensuring transparency and control of costs.
* Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
* Oversee the procurement and deployment of IT hardware and software for new sites.
* Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and accelerate deployment through automation and best practices.
* Maintain data privacy and cybersecurity compliance (e.g., GDPR).
* Provide proactive IT and Tech support, performance monitoring, and service improvement for all Time Out Markets.
* Contribute to technology strategy, planning, and budget forecasting.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in IT project management, ideally within retail, hospitality, or franchise-based environments.
* Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously across multiple regions or markets.
* Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, POS systems, ERP integrations, and cloud-based solutions.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor negotiation skills.
* PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred.
Preferred
* Experience developing IT playbooks or frameworks for multi-site openings or franchise operations.
* Understanding of data security, compliance, and scalability considerations for distributed business models.
* Experience working with third-party franchisees or joint venture partners.
