We are expanding our workforce and have an exciting opportunity to join our Glasgow / Basildon team as a Machinist Apprentice.\nLearn to work to strict safety and quality requirements, help to achieve daily production \nrequirements in terms of quality and quantity, optimizing efficiency and maintaining \noperational excellence. \n\nKey responsibilities include;\n\nLearn to operate CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, and drilling equipment \nAssist in the manufacture of precision-engineered components to engineering drawings and specifications \nLearn how to set up machines, tooling, and fixtures \nCarry out quality inspections using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges \nFollow health & safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment \nSupport experienced machinists with production activities \nMaintain accurate production and inspection records \nParticipate in continuous improvement and housekeeping activities \nAttend college/training provider sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme \nDevelop knowledge of engineering materials, machining processes, and manufacturing techniques\nEnsure that all relevant quality criteria are met\nLearn to maintain accurate documentation related to quality & work in progress\nAdhere to âhousekeepingâ 5sâ to maintain a clean work area, ensuring audit ready at all times\nAny other, as is reasonable to meet business needs and the requirements of the apprenticeship.\n\n We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Machinist Apprentice to join our manufacturing team. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in CNC and conventional machining while working towards a recognised engineering qualification through a Scottish Modern Apprenticeship programme.\nThe successful candidate will learn to manufacture precision components safely and accurately using a range of machine tools and inspection equipment.\n\nSuccessful candidates will undertake a Modern apprenticeship which will include an NC in Engineering Systems and Performing Engineering Operations SCQF Level 5 vocational qualification in year 1 at EKGTA's training facility, then proceed to complete the HNC in Mechanical Engineering through day release at college and the Diploma in Engineering SCQF Level 7 in years 2-4.
