About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to provide accurate estimates and budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
* Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects.
* Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
* Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best terms.
* Manage project budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are tracked and reported accurately.
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on project specifications and requirements.
* Conduct site visits to assess progress and compliance with specifications.
* Provide regular reports on financial status, forecasts, and potential risks associated with projects.
* Be able to actively work within and contribute to our ISO9001 and 14001 quality management systems.
Qualifications
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self‑motivated.
