Commercial Contracts Manager – Defence Sector Location - Gloucester or Hertfordshire Salary - Up to £68,000 DoE, plus a fantastic package. Hours / Working pattern - 37 hours, 2/3 days a week on site. Copello is recruiting for a Commercial Contracts Manager to join a leading organisation in the defence sector, supporting the delivery of high-value, complex programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially experienced professional with a background in defence or another highly regulated industry, who also brings proven experience in managing and developing people. The Role: As a Commercial Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for: Leading a team of commercial professionals, providing mentorship and performance management Overseeing the development, negotiation, and management of complex contracts and subcontracts Acting as the primary commercial interface with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, procurement regulations, and governance frameworks Supporting risk management, pricing strategies, and commercial input into bids and proposals What We’re Looking For: Demonstrable experience in a commercial or contracts management role within defence, aerospace, nuclear, or another regulated industry Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation, and commercial governance Experience managing or leading a team within a commercial function Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Eligibility for, or current possession of, security clearance What’s on Offer: The chance to work on nationally significant and technically complex programmes A leadership position with scope to influence and shape commercial strategy Competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for career advancement To apply, please send your CV to aaron@copello.co.uk
