Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers, or small businesses, and their financial service providers. Our Communications and Engagement directorate is delivering a major programme of improvements to strengthen trust in financial services. This year, we’re focused on implementing a new corporate strategy and five-year plan. The newly created Senior Content Manager role will lead our publications and insight strategy, working across casework, operations, and data teams to produce clear, evidence-based content that builds our reputation and supports reform. What You’ll Do: This role leads the strategic planning and delivery of thematic reviews and insight publications across the Financial Ombudsman Service. It involves setting clear content strategies, gaining senior stakeholder buy-in, and overseeing multi-channel outputs across social media, web, and digital platforms. The postholder will manage a high-performing content team, drive editorial decisions, and ensure timely publication. They will champion continuous improvement through evaluation frameworks, represent the team confidently to internal and external stakeholders, and foster collaboration across the organisation to ensure coordinated and impactful engagement. To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria: Minimum Criteria Proven experience in setting and delivering content and insight strategies within a public sector organisation, regulator or government body, with clear evidence of strategic outcomes and impact. Experience of managing multi-channel content delivery, including oversight of social media, website and digital platforms, and coordinating responsibilities across internal teams and external suppliers. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and influence senior stakeholders, building strong relationships across operational, casework, and insight teams to align messaging and drive strategic outcomes. Experience in translating complex data and insight into clear, accessible content, including leading the creation of thematic reviews, publications and digital outputs that support organisational goals. Experience in evaluating content performance, including embedding reporting frameworks, aligning activity to strategic aims, and using metrics to inform continuous improvement. Line management experience, with direct responsibility for at least one team member in a communications or engagement function. We would also like you to have the following skills: Collaborative mindset, with a track record of working effectively across diverse teams (e.g. casework, operations, data and insight) to align content delivery with organisational priorities. Resilience and adaptability, showing the ability to lead and deliver strategic content in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining a clear focus on outcomes and continuous improvement.
