Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Edge Bander Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating edge banding machinery to enhance the finish and durability of our doors. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and the ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment. Responsibilities
* Operate edge banding machines to apply timber edges to door cores
* Set up and adjust machinery according to specific job requirements
* Conduct quality checks to ensure a smooth, professional finish on all products
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimise downtime
* Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting of panels and components
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards
* Assist with assembly tasks as required, using hand tools and power tools
* Collaborate with team members to meet production targets efficiently
Requirements
* Proven experience in operating edge banding machinery or similar fabrication equipment
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools is advantageous
* Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments preferred
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout shifts
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in finishing processes
* Previous experience in assembly or fabrication roles is desirable
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
