About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer. The role will be based in Finham (Coventry). This role will sit in our Waste Treatment Design Team. Our Design Team use their technical skills to shape the wastewater strategies for the company, providing expert advice to lead projects from feasibility to detailed design, supporting the Severn Trent goals.
You will work with our stakeholders, consultants and contractors to protect and enhance the quality of our waste treatment assets and rivers; interrogate and make improvements to our data systems; undertake investigations; undertake outline designs so that we have the best evidence available from which we can make sound decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake feasibility assessmentsfor promoted projects- understandingthe problemandour existing assets, completing risk assessments,developing ideasforsolutionsto meet new business needs, ensuringhealth andsafety are built into the lifecycle of theassets we build.
Further developtechnicalsolutionsduring outline design,identifyingpotential risks and opportunitiesfor the business.
Support the Price Review regulatory submissions; collaborating across the business as we build our river quality,sustainabilityand net zero carbon plans
Carry out self-led research on emerging technologies, to define new innovative treatment options and collaborate both internally and externally to promote new strategies
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’llbe degree qualified and actively working towards incorporated or chartered status, a journey which we are keen to support you on.An engineering discipline would berequired.
You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be forward-thinking, capable ofanticipatingchallenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. A full UK driving licence will berequired.
