About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electronic Design Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative engineering team based in Shaftesbury, Dorset. This is a hands-on, on-site role suited to an engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys seeing their designs come to life in real-world applications.
You will play a key role in the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to production, delivering high-performance electronic solutions for commercial and industrial use.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits.
* Produce and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
* Collaborate with software, mechanical, and production teams to bring products from concept to manufacture.
* Prototype, test, and debug hardware, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Support continuous improvement and provide input on existing products.
* Keep up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in electronic design.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in electronic hardware design (analogue and digital).
* Proficient in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar.
* Experience working with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
* Solid understanding of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART.
* Experience with EMC compliance and design for manufacture.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communicator and team player.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with embedded firmware development (C/C++)
