Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and highly motivated Employability and Placement Advisor to support our 16‑19 learners in developing the skills, experience, and confidence needed to succeed in the workplace. The primary purpose of this role is to source high‑quality work experience and work‑related opportunities, while planning and delivering engaging employer‑led activities. You will play a key role in ensuring that all learners benefit from meaningful employer engagement and leave their programmes fully prepared for employment or further study.
Responsibilities
* Identify, source, and secure high‑quality work experience placements aligned to learners’ study programmes and career aspirations.
* Plan, promote, and deliver employer awareness, employer experience, and employer readiness activities in line with curriculum requirements.
* Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to embed employability skills and employer engagement within study programmes.
* Build, maintain, and develop strong relationships with employers to support learner progression and opportunities.
* Prepare learners for the workplace through coaching, CV development, interview preparation, and employability workshops.
* Monitor and track learner participation in work experience and employer‑led activities, ensuring targets and quality standards are met.
* Ensure all placements and activities meet safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance requirements.
* Forge effective relationships with local, regional, and national employers to secure high‑quality, relevant external work experience placements for all eligible learners.
Qualifications
* Experience in employer engagement, recruitment, or work placement coordination.
* Strong networking and relationship‑building skills.
* Knowledge of employability skills and the needs of 16‑19 learners.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* The ability to motivate and inspire young people to achieve their goals.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Clearance through the DBS, references that cover the last two years of employment and online screening. Other checks may also be required. All employees must have literacy and numeracy at least Level 2.
