The UK Corporate Banking Head of Financial Crime Execution is responsible for ensuring that UK Corporate effectively plans, designs, and executes strategies to minimize financial crime risk, including Anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, and bribery and corruption, in line with Barclays Group Financial Crime Policies and Standards. The role aims to protect the Bank, its Clients, employees, and wider society from the serious and negative effects of financial crime.
Key Accountabilities
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory changes, legislation, industry practices, and thematic risk drivers.
* Review and challenge risk assessments to understand inherent risks and ensure controls are effective.
* Identify and evaluate financial crime risks and control weaknesses, analyzing their impact.
* Deliver Financial Crime challenge and oversight as part of the Strategic Vision, including leading thematic risk identification and control environment enhancements.
* Work with senior stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management across processes like customer onboarding, monitoring, and reporting.
* Define and oversee transformation programmes as an Accountable Executive.
* Advise senior management and committees on financial crime risks and strategic initiatives.
* Lead the Financial Crime Execution team, providing governance and control direction.
* Collaborate with second line functions to influence policies and standards, focusing on mutually prioritized areas.
* Engage with senior leaders on progress and escalate risks as needed.
Purpose of the role
To provide data-led oversight, challenge, and evidence of compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities.
