Job Summary:
The Terminal Manager is responsible for managing the daily administrative duties of each terminal to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the terminal. This position requires strong leadership skills in order to direct the day-to-day processes of the dispatch team and ensure the safe and efficient flow of operations. The Terminal Manager is tasked with creating a positive public image for the terminal and Davis Trucking as a whole by demonstrating great customer service and professionalism.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee data entry & customer service clerks, dispatch, and drivers
Duties/Responsibilities:
Create and adapt administrative office procedures as necessary; identify, develop and implement administrative workflow processes; monitor procedures and ensure quality control.
Supervise administrative support staff (Office Staff, Dock Personnel, Drivers); provide work direction; resolve staff questions; train new employees; coordinate workflow; oversee hiring of employees for your respective terminal.
Manage work schedules for terminal, including sick days and vacation days; KEEP OVERTIME FOR EMPLOYEES TO ZERO OR MINIMUM
Assist corporate office with budgeting for general office equipment and supplies, inventory control, and administration of human resource programs
Ensure proper maintenance and repair of equipment other than computers (i.e. check on trucks regularly, make sure they are in good condition both aesthetically and functionality)
Coordinate materials for billing to be sent to the corporate office., ensure documents are complete and scanned into system within 5 days of service completion
Perform sales functions by introducing new customers to the company’s services and negotiating prices according to their needs
Ensure TSA regulations are properly followed by all in the
Monitor employee/driver activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures
In the event of any problems, immediate connection with the corporate office is required to make them aware and assist them with all the information necessary to find a solution
Perform other duties as directed, or as needed.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 5:00pm, plus some weekend work.
Pay Starting At: $65,000 to $85,000/ year, depending on experience

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
Bachelor’s degree or related higher education
Logistics Experience (2 years minimum)
Managerial experience in the transportation industry
Forklift experience
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
