Overview
Lead Clinician to manage the in-house Clinical Team at Manor Wood School, Bristol. The role involves clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload, working with the school’s SLT and the Regional Clinical Lead to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils with complex profiles of need (autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, SEMH). The postholder will focus on meeting EHCP needs, coordinate line management of the onsite clinical team, and contribute to service development of the school-based clinical service in collaboration with education teams. Our clinical teams operate with a person-centred, safeguarding-focused approach to support pupils’ independence and well-being.
Location: Manor Wood School – Bristol BS13 8AG. The school is part of the Acorn Education brand and supports young people aged 5–16.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the in-house Clinical Team and supervise therapy staff.
* Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils with complex needs related to autism, neurodivergence, trauma, and SEMH.
* Meet the needs outlined in EHCP plans using OFG’s clinical approaches (all/group/individual).
* Coordinate line management and contribute to the development of the school-based clinical service in partnership with the SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
* Maintain a person-centred, safeguarding-focused service that supports pupils to flourish and gain independence.
Essential Criteria
* Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychotherapy, or Doctorate in Psychology.
* Valid professional registration and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., BPS).
* Experience with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs; clear and concise clinical and research reporting.
* Experience supervising and supporting a therapy team.
* Ability to work independently and adapt in a growing clinical service; experience of multi-professional collaboration.
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Employment Details
* Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 FTE depending on experience.
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* Contract: Permanent (term-time or flexible full-time arrangements discussed).
* Location: Manor Wood School, Bristol.
