Wills & Probate Solicitor or equivalent - Part Time
Job Overview
A new opportunity has arisen for a qualified Legal Advisor to join our successful Wills & Probate Department.
To be successful in this role, you will have had exposure during or post training to Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Deputyship applications to the Court of Protection. Knowledge of trusts would also be helpful. A willingness to work towards STEP will be expected and supported.
You need to present a professional image at all times, be well presented, confident, and have excellent communication skills. You will be hardworking and able to work empathetically and sympathetically when dealing with the bereaved and those facing a loss of mental capacity.
The position is part-time (3 days per week) based at our Peterborough office.
Activities will include, but are not limited to:
* Promoting the firm’s services, focusing on Wills, Probate, and Private Client matters.
* Managing client work assigned by the Head of Department or other fee-earners, following firm procedures and quality standards.
* Progressing client work efficiently, keeping clients informed about outcomes, progress, and costs.
* Maintaining high standards of client care professionally and pleasantly.
* Ensuring confidentiality and security of all documentation and information.
* Achieving billing and time recording targets.
* Maintaining clear communication within the team and with external institutions.
* Taking responsibility for self-development and complying with training requirements.
* Supporting the Departmental Head and managing departmental administration.
