Main duties of the job
7. Face to face consultations
8. Support the service in achieving Key Performance Indicators in line with national standards
9. Fully qualified GP with GMC registration on the performers list
10. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
11. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
12. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
13. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
14. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
15. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
16. Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.

Job description
Job responsibilities
As a General Practitioner you will be responsible for the provision of safe and effective primary care led service for patients presenting with acute injury, illness, and exacerbation of long term conditions in line with NHS England Urgent Treatment Centre service specification. You will take a pro-active approach to improving the clinical effectiveness of the service and work collaboratively with all colleagues.
Experience in urgent care is essential
Clinical Duties
18. Maintain the highest clinical standards for all patients
19. Assess, investigate, diagnose and treat patients
20. Provide emergency care while waiting for emergency transfer
21. Provide advice and support to colleagues and team.
22. Manage the flow of patients by balancing the clinical need of the patient
23. Offer on-site assessment patients who require immediate further investigation and diagnostics.
24. Ensure that high clinical standards are maintained throughout the service.
25. Comply with standard operational procedures and departmental and organisational policy.
Essential
26. Current registration with GMC
27. Experience of working in urgent care environment such as A&E, Walk In Centres
28. Sound knowledge of clinical governance
29. Good leadership skills
30. Good organisational and IT skills desirable
31. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - written, verbal (Particularly listening skills)
32. Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability.
33. Must be authorised to work in the UK
