Why this job matters
The Senior Organisational Performance Lead supports the development and operation of an organisational performance framework aligned to the target operating model. You will build and run the Group’s organisational performance measurement spine — bringing the signal, framing the problem, and translating complex performance data into decision-grade measures, clear insights, options and recommendations that shape action early.
Working closely with Finance, Strategy, Transformation, Target State Team, Data and functional leaders, you will establish baselines and benchmarks, define metrics and guardrails leaders trust, and track impact through a repeatable performance cadence. This role does not own delivery in the units; instead, you enable units to act by providing decision-grade insight, design options/guardrails (with relevant partners), and rigorous impact tracking.
Key elements of the role include:
Performance framework and measurement standards
* Build a deep understanding of performance across the Group and identify the key drivers behind change (what moved, why it moved, what matters most).
* Diagnose performance issues early, differentiate signal from noise, and frame the problem in a way that enables clear choices and prioritisation.
* Provide concise, executive-ready insights with recommended actions and decision points.
Productivity and efficiency analytics
* Establish and maintain productivity / efficiency / organisational performance measures (including baseline and benchmarking approaches).
* Create and maintain a clear metric dictionary with common definitions and measurement standards.
* Implement data quality checks and confidence levels, including normalisation/adjustments where needed, so leaders can trust and use the numbers.
Performance cadence and governance support
* Build driver-based performance views and translate them into practical levers leaders can use.
* Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to inform trade-offs (timing, cost, risk, capacity, value).
* Support prioritisation and sequencing by quantifying benefits and impacts (in partnership with Finance and Strategy where appropriate).
Benchmarking and external comparators
* Develop benchmarking approaches to compare internal performance across teams and against relevant external references where available.
* Normalise measures to enable like-for-like comparisons and support target-setting.
Stakeholder partnering
* Work as a trusted thought partner to Finance, Strategy, Target State, Transformation, Data teams and functional/unit leaders.
* Support “Target State” / design partners by translating performance signals into design options and guardrails and incorporating feasibility feedback and change impact from execution.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence without authority, challenging constructively when evidence indicates a different course.
