We are looking for a strategic leader to drive our health, safety, and sustainability agenda across England, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities of the Group Head of Health, Safety & Environment will include:
* Lead and implement health & safety strategy across all branches and operational regions.
* Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure safe working practices and legal compliance.
* Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
* Deliver health & safety training programs and promote a safety-first culture.
* Drive sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and waste minimisation.
* Report to senior leadership on performance metrics and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
* Extensive experience (7+ years) in health and safety leadership roles, preferably in a multi-site, multi-country setting.
* Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, ISO 45001).
* Proven ability to implement and manage health and safety systems across complex operational environments.
* Strong practical knowledge of safety legislation.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience within the builders merchanting or construction materials sector is highly desirable.
* Ability to travel internationally as required.
