Equans is looking for a Technical Manager (Electrical) to join our team at Manchester Joint Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Technical Manager (Electrical) will play a vital role in EQUANS, working alongside an established technical team to ensure operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.
The post holder will ensure asset compliance with all statutory and company procedures across stakeholder groups, ensuring an effective maintenance strategy for mechanical and electrical systems to maximise asset lifecycle and reduce costs through a proactive approach.
Based at Manchester Joint Hospitals, the Technical Manager (Electrical) will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance standards on the contract. They will provide guidance on site, demonstrating technical expertise in the mechanical and electrical systems to ensure compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. They will ensure that work by third parties meets required contract standards.
We are looking for a driven individual who can add expertise to the Manchester team, with flexibility to respond to changing business requirements and the ability to develop good working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

What will you deliver?
 * Management of an electrical bias and assist in the management of other disciplines as necessary
 * Investigate and manage all claims of defect or asset failure
 * Collaborate with operational leads to continually improve service delivery across the full range of services
 * Contribute to the financial performance of the contract, focusing on operational efficiency and subcontract procurement
 * Ensure compliance with company procedures for planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of the services through analysis of relevant data
 * Ensure planned maintenance tasks are completed and reactive works are effectively managed by third parties
 * Implement lifecycle strategies and drive innovation
 * Survey assets and provide technical and conditional reports
 * Support lifecycle replacement plans with scope of work, risks, budgets and delivery timelines
 * Monitor and update record drawings and Operations and Maintenance manuals; ensure standards are maintained by all parties
 * Ensure compliance with statutory, NHS and company procedures; maintain up-to-date knowledge
 * Undertake AP duties alongside other APs (e.g., Pressure Systems, Medical Gases, Ventilation) with full training provided
 * Meet ongoing customer requirements and build relationships with partners, suppliers and sub-contractors
 * Communicate clearly and professionally; maintain presentable personal standards
 * Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
 * Respond to reasonable management requests as required
 * Attend and represent EQUANS in Technical and NHS safety groups
 * Provide technical support to the wider team as required

Who are you?
 * Qualified to HNC/HND level in an engineering discipline with a proven managerial track record
 * Degree or equivalent experience in the relevant field
 * Experience in a technical management role
 * Stakeholder management and engagement skills
 * Proficient with Microsoft Office
 * Experience in a healthcare setting and with PFI contracts is desirable
 * Risk assessment and safe working practices
 * Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely)
 * Experience with Building Services and Mechanical/Electrical systems
 * Experience in report writing and presentations
 * Strong customer focus; hospital FM experience in a similar environment is advantageous
This role includes a DBS Standard check; ability to pass is essential.
