Corporate Grader OCT, Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) – Location: Middlewich/Remote. Join our national Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) team and help improve early diagnosis and patient outcomes across the UK. InHealth supports more than 5 million patients every year, delivering high-quality screening and data solutions in partnership with NHS organisations.
Role Summary
As a Corporate Retinal Grader you will be part of the central grading team, delivering accurate, high-quality diabetic retinal grading across all programmes. Your work will support clinical decision‑making and ensure patients receive the right care at the right time. This is a full‑time permanent position. In addition to the advertised salary, the role includes a £3,000 bolt‑on annual payment for OCT grading.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first, second, arbitration, ROG and OCT grading following NDESP guidance.
* Complete relevant units of the Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners and participate in monthly EQA tests.
* Become an expert user of Spectra.
* Maintain excellent data security and follow all grading protocols.
* Participate in competency assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Communicate clearly with colleagues and contribute to MDT meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
* Completed Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Diploma or Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners.
* Full sign‑off to grade at all levels, including OCT.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to focus for long periods.
* A professional, calm and empathetic approach.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good IT skills and understanding of data protection.
