We have a new exciting opportunity for a Vetting Researcher to join Dorset Police. This role will be based in Winfrith.
This is a temporary role until at least the end of March 2026 working Monday to Friday 37 hours a week office based.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. UNFORTUNATELY ANYTHING LESS THAN THIS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Purpose of the role - To undertake analysis and evaluation of Force, National and other bespoke Police databases. To present relevant information in order to enable vetting decisions to be made by the Vetting Researcher and the Force Vetting Officer / Manager and Head of Professional Standards Department, in accordance with the Authorised Professional Practice for Vetting, the Police Code of Ethics and the Vetting Code of Practice
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To know and be able to apply the principles in the Vetting Code of Practice, APP for Vetting and the Police Code of Ethics when researching vetting applicants and associates. To make critical decisions on which information is collated for presentation to the Force Vetting Officer.
Where suitable, to conduct low level financial interviews with new applicants in liaison with the Force Vetting Officer, in order to ascertain a candidate's version of events and disclosures as declared on vetting forms, so that a fair and consistent vetting decision can ...
