Job Description
Shift patterns will consist of mornings 07 : 00-14 : 15 and / or evenings 16 : 00-22 : 00. You will be required to work alternate weekends.
* Provide essential personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Manage medication administration and assist with meal preparation, adhering to dietary requirements
* Maintain a hygienic and safe living environment, offering professional companionship and emotional support
* Assist with mobility and transfers, utilising appropriate equipment and following safety protocols
* Monitor and report changes in service users' health or wellbeing to the care coordinator
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members
* Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations and organisational policies
* Participate in mandatory training and professional development opportunities
* Work alternate weekends and operate across Wigan and surrounding areas as required.
Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
* Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person‑centred care
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility
* First Aid certification is advantageous
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
* Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required
* Compassionate and patient demeanour
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
* Basic IT skills for accurate record‑keeping
* Enthusiasm for making a positive difference in people’s lives
