The role
About the Job Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Full Stack Engineer on a 12-month contract. In this role, you'll be part of a team delivering critical customer facing eCommerce solutions for Games Workshop. You'll spend time understanding the challenges you are trying to solve, creating high quality solutions through collaboration with colleagues to ensure you deliver at pace. Working with other Developers and alongside Quality Assurance, you will deliver new functionality and changes to the Warhammer.com eCommerce store. Using a strong engineering process, ensuring solutions are reliable, secure and scalable for the Games Workshop business. You'll use your extensive ecommerce experience to efficiently deliver quality solutions to business requirements, being aware of platform costs and working to optimise those wherever possible without compromising operations. You'll be highly attuned to the customer, helping deliver a seamless reliable checkout experience whilst understanding the intricacies of operating a global webstore. Highly collaborative and a team player, you'll work within robust testing processes which facilitate rapid delivery of high quality software. You'll work consistently to uphold and raise the quality of team output through code reviews and feedback. Always focusing on delivering value to Games Workshop you'll identify technical debt and areas of process improvement. You'll have experience of working in AWS, with AWS CDK and/or infrastructure as code, to develop secure and scalable systems that are architected according to the AWS Well-Architected Framework. You'll be accustomed to using techniques like Test Driven Development and Paired Programming to create secure and performant software. We're looking for someone who has a positive outlook, regardless of setbacks with great adaptability to change, combined with an understanding of technologies such as TypeScript, GraphQL, AWS Technologies, GitHub, and Contentful.
