Responsibilities
* Identify specific environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from solution definition to completion.
* Support project teams to develop environmental risk mitigation measures, considering cost, time, compliance, safety, and social impacts.
* Plan and coordinate project environmental specialist inputs (e.g., heritage, archaeology, ecology, geomorphology) to ensure timely and high‑standard task completion.
* Produce deliverables such as EIA screening assessments, material management plans, and environmental management plans at appropriate milestones.
* Application for environmental permits and consents.
* Lead liaison with environmental regulators.
* Engage positively with clients on environmental and consenting matters to build relationships and enhance reputation.
* Contribute to environmental improvement projects at local and regional levels.
* Assist in producing and delivering training.
Qualifications
* Chartered with a relevant professional body or actively working toward chartership.
* Understanding of environmental disciplines and project risks in ecology, archaeology, drainage, geotechnical, contaminated land, landscape, and noise.
* Awareness of the planning process (preferably the water sector), including surveys, permits, and consents.
* Ability to coordinate environmental aspects through high‑level planning, organization, and communication.
* Experience advising on sustainability initiatives, including biodiversity net gain.
* Effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
* Methodical approach to problem solving and a proactive, pragmatic mindset.
* Proficiency in delivering results within short timeframes, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
